Hair Loss Due to Skin Cancer

Thank you for visiting hats2cover.com.  I had you in mind when I formed the collection of head coverings.

In 2000, I was diagnosed with an aggressive type of BC Skin Cancer which required extensive surgery and resulted in significant hair loss on the top of my head. The cancer returned in 2002.  After another complicated surgery and six weeks of radiation treatments, I lost an even larger amount of hair.  My hair loss is permanent.

As a former hair stylist, I explored creative ways to cover the bald area on my head.  Initially I wore wigs to work, but I felt awkward and uncomfortable.  The wig did not look or fit naturally.  Now I wear head covers all the time.  From a hairpiece or hat, to a do-rag, or bandana.  Head covers are an essential component of dressing each day.

I wanted styles that didn't scream "hair loss".  A head cover that anyone could or would be wearing even if they didn't have temporary or permanent hair loss.

I am continually searching for attractive and stylish head covers that are comfortable for women without hair and provide the full coverage they need.  Please check back often for the latest selections.  My wish is that hats2cover.com will save you time searching for the unique options.

It is a privilege to share my collection with you.

Sincerely,
Kathy Thompson

Here's a couple of "Quotes" that a friend shared with me and I think they say it all!

Here's to "Fearless Living"!!!!

ATTITUDE:
There once was a woman who woke up one morning,
looked in the mirror,
and noticed she had only three hairs on her head.
'Well,' she said, 'I think I'll braid my hair today.'
So she did and she had a wonderful day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror
and saw that she had only two hairs on her head.
'H-M-M,' she said,
'I think I'll part my hair down the middle today.'
So she did and she had a grand day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed
that she had only one hair on her head.
'Well,' she said, 'today I'm going
to wear my hair in a pony tail.'
So she did, and she had a fun, fun day.

The next day she woke up,
looked in the mirror and noticed
that there wasn't a single hair on her head.
'YAY!' she exclaimed.
'I don't have to fix my hair today!'

Attitude is everything.

Be kinder than necessary,
for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle .
